CelloArt: Ruslan BiryukovRuslan and cello

Within over 20 years of Ruslan's teaching career in United States, Europe and Russia his students won over 300 awards at the various competitions (including the Tchaikovsky International Music Competition in Moscow). Ruslan's students regularly perform at some of the most prestigious venues and get accepted into the most successful universities, many of them are granted full scholarships. His teaching success has its roots in the exceptional schooling he received from the Tchaikovsky State Moscow Conservatory and USC Thornton School of music. Among his teachers were legendary Eleonore Schoenfeld, Mstislav Rostropovich, Kirill Rodin, Natalia Gutman, Daniil Shafran.

Just in the summer of 2018 students Darren Jiang and Andrew Yang won 2nd and 3rd prices at the International Academy of Music String Competition in Castelnuovo di Garfagnana, Italy; students Han Li and Darren Jiang won 1st Prizes at the Satori Competition in Los Angeles; student Sebastian Brumm were accepted into Chapman University Music Major program with full scholarship; students Ethan Zhang and Emily Kang did their debut performances in the Carnegie Hall in New York.

Building confidence and opening students' strongest sides are the fundamentals of Ruslan's teaching philosophy. It is based on his broad performance and teaching experience along with nurturing approach toward anyone interested in the Arts.
